SOHO Wireless Network IP Camera
Introducing the SOHO wireless network camera an intelligent stand alone surveillance device which connects directly to your home or office network. It works independently of your PC providing 24 hour monitoring, even when your computer is switched off. It has a powerful built in network processor which can capture and transfer images to a web or FTP server, send images by email and stream live video to a web browser anywhere in the world. The camera is simple to install, but has flexible and powerful configuration and scheduling options. Once configured, the SOHO camera will run completely unattended, so you can fit and forget it .
Image Transfer and Storage Captured images are transferred to a web or FTP server, either on the internet or on your local area network. You can use free web space offered by your internet service provider for this, or you can use a locally installed file server. The camera can upload images continuously (at whatever rate you choose) or you can schedule uploads on certain days and with specified start and stop times (during work hours, for example). The camera can also send email images at specified times or continuously throughout the day. Images can be stored permanently or regularly overwritten to keep your archive to a manageable size so you don't fill up your server space. This process ensures you always have the most recent images stored. If an incident should take place, you just need to download the stored images and browse through them to find out what happened. Unlike tapes in a conventional CCTV system, images transferred to off site storage can't be stolen. Remote monitoring and web site promotion The SOHO camera has a built in web server with separate pages for live video, still image and camera configuration. By making a small change to your router configuration, you can view these pages from any PC that s connected to the internet. So you can set up a camera at home, then watch live images on your PC at work keep an eye on that expensive bike locked up in the garage, or make sure those new puppies are OK. Access to the camera s web server is controlled by a two level (administrator and user) password system. If you've got something you want everyone to see, you can put a live image directly on your website. You just add a simple APPLET tag to your HTML code. The camera also comes with PC software IPView SE, which acts as a CCTV control centre. Multiple cameras can be watched on split screens and automatic motion detection will start and stop AVI video recordings on any camera where there is movement.
Note that you must have a router based broadband system to take full advantage of the camera's features a wireless router is preferable. Some re configuration of your router will be required for remote monitoring.
