IMPORTANT MAC USER INFORMATION:
Currently the Garmin iQue 3600 IS NOT compatible with Macintosh software, unless you use a third party software solution.
Listed below is a third party solution which allows your Garmin iQue 3600 to SYNC directly with your Mac OS X Software. (Map transfer must be done using Virtual PC).
SYNC IQUE 3600 WITH MAC OS X - PDiQue.dmg (09SEP03)
PLEASE READ FIRST: PDiQue.dmg is available for free, with complete Project Builder source code. There is no warranty or support. Neither Palm, Garmin, Apple or OctaPC will support this program. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
INSTALLATION STEPS
1. Download and install Palm Desktop v4.1 for MAC from http://www.palmone.com/us/software/desktop/mac.html.
This program will allow you to sync to your Garmin iQue 3600 using MAC OS X. You will not be able to transfer map data to you iQue.
2. Download and install the PDiQue.dmg file (aka iQue on USB) from http://www.lycestra.com/ique.html.
This is a free program for Mac OS X 10.2.6 and later, which will update the Palm Desktop 4.1 for use with the Garmin iQue 3600 PDA on USB without a serial adaptor.
3. Restart you computer.
HOW IT WORKS
The PDiQue.dmg program, aka iQue on USB, is a Cocoa program that simply modifies three property lists used by Palm Desktop. These lists are what Palm Desktop uses to know what USB devices it can talk to. By chance, or luck, or whatever you may think, the iQue is compatible with Palm Desktop 4.1, but Palm Desktop does not assume so. By adding it to these lists, Palm Desktop will sync with the iQue.
